After Shave Basic Recipe

                            Copyright Mabel White

Believe it or not most aftershaves are made with Vodka or Rum (for the bay rum smell).  Various herbs and spices are soaked in the alcohol for a few weeks and then strained from the liquid.  Idea’s for spices include:  Cloves, rosemary, sage,  orange peels, vanilla, and lavender or ginger if you like.  Store  in a dark glass jar and shake every few days for two weeks.  My guy likes the smell of Givenchy "Pi" and that has soft notes of woods and vanilla in it. So I soak a vanilla bean in Vodka and then add a few drops of sandalwood essential oil.
